Enclosure (2025)

Enclosure explores the enduring legacy of land appropriation, privatisation, and enclosure. This collection of sculptures and paintings showcases the profound and lasting impact of land enclosure reshaping the British landscape, eroding common lands and restricting access to the once open countryside.

Inspired by the rolling hills and fields of Herefordshire and the cherished common land of Garway Hill, the artworks expose the relentless exploitation of nature and the alarming concentration of land ownership. Enclosure aims to provoke reflection on the resilience of the natural world, and invites viewers to actively protect, restore, and rewild our precious countryside.

This project forms part of the “Farmers” series, a broader artistic response decrying the relentless push for intensive farming that encroaches upon vital wild habitats and drives accelerating biodiversity loss.
